Amy Porras Named Application Development Manager

Conventus Polymers LLC, a leading distributor of high-performance engineering thermoplastics, has announced the appointment of Amy Porras as application development manager based in Atlanta. She will oversee new business development with OEMs and molders in the U.S. Southeast region.
“Conventus is excited to have Amy on our team; she brings a strong plastics background, executive leadership experience, deep expertise in a new market, and expands our geographical coverage, offering a local presence to key customers in the area.,” said John Jorgensen, President of Conventus Polymers.
Porras has held wide-ranging roles in her 20-plus years in the chemicals, plastics, and software industries. She has worked in sales, business development, marketing, product management, and customer service for many leading material suppliers. Most recently she served as wire and cable market manager for Nexeo Plastics.
She started her career as an Account Manager for Dow Chemical Co. and Union Carbide Corp. and later worked as an account executive for Erie Plastics. Porras was also Regional Sales Manager for Columbian Chemical Co. (now Birla Carbon). At T&T Marketing, Inc. (now M. Holland), she served as Account and Product Manager and Global Sales Director.
Porras earned a bachelor’s of science degree in public relations/communications from Cornell University and a master’s degree in international education from New York University.
