Arvind Rao Named Application Development & Technology Manager

Conventus Polymers LLC, a leading distributor of high-performance engineering thermoplastics, has announced the appointment of Arvind Rao as Application Development and Technology Manager, based in Rochester, N.Y. He will oversee business development with OEMs and molders in upstate New York and Western Pennsylvania, as well as lead a number of special projects.
“Conventus welcomes Arvind to the team and we hope to leverage his broad-based technical and commercial knowledge and experience as we move through this exciting period of growth,” said John Jorgensen, president of Conventus Polymers. “Arvind offers a combination of deep polymer chemistry expertise, coupled with a unique perspective in this industry having worked across OEMs, Converters, and Resin Suppliers. He has been both a provider and consumer of high-performance thermoplastics at several levels. His skill set and experience is invaluable to customers as we continue to bring the latest polymeric technologies to a continually growing customer base.”
Rao has more than 25 years of technical and sales experience with wide-ranging roles in engineering, market development, and account management for many leading material suppliers, converters, and end users. He most recently served as principal engineer with Bausch Health where he lead advanced polymer material and process research for contact lenses. He also worked as market development manager for Sabic Innovative Plastics and senior account manager for Century Mold. Early in his career, he was a polymers team leader for General Motors and senior plastics engineer with Delphi.
Rao earned bachelor of science and master of science (Magna Cum Laude) degrees in chemical engineering from Cleveland State University.
